Using Leafeon

For breeding and training Leafeon, I recommend checking out the Smogon Leafeon Page. Smogon is one of the best resources for planning your team and training competitive Pokemon. The Substitute + Swords Dance set is most commonly recommended, taking advantage of Leafeon's HP, and Speed:

  • Leafeon with Leftovers
  • Ability: Chlorophyll
  • EVs: 136 HP / 120 Atk / 252 Spe
  • Jolly Nature
  • - Swords Dance
  • - Substitute
  • - Baton Pass
  • - Leaf Blade

    Obtain Leafeon

The only way to evolve an Eevee into a Leafeon is to level it up near a Moss Rock. Because the moss rock was introduced in later generations, Leafeon is not obtainable in generations 1, 2 or 3. But from 4 and onwards. Locations of the moss rocks are listed below. If the rock is not available in an individual game, the trade recommendation will be listed. If you don't already have an Eevee, head on over to Eevee game locations.

D/P/Pt: Once you have your Eevee, you can find the moss rock in the southwestern section of Eterna Forest. The moss rocks in these games are actually fairly small, like the size of breakable boulders. So keep a close eye out when looking for it.

HG/SS: The moss rock does not exist in this game. However, you can trade yourself a Leafeon from Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum.

B/W/B2/W2: The moss rock can be found in the southwestern section of Pinwheel Forest. The moss rock is a large grey boulder, with the top covered in moss. You'll know it when you see it.

X/Y: The large moss rock/boulder (easy to spot) can be found on Route 20, between Snowbelle City and the Pokemon Village.

OR/AS/E: In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire ONLY, a moss rock can be found in the northeast part of Petalburg Woods. HM Cut is required to reach it.
