Using Glaceon

For breeding and training Glaceon, I recommend checking out the Smogon Glaceon Page. Smogon is one of the best resources for planning your team and training competitive Pokemon. Glaceon has quite a few sets that are exceptionally good, but I happen to favor the Choice Specs set the most:

  • Glaceon with Choice Specs
  • Ability: Ice Body
  • EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
  • Modest Nature
  • - Ice Beam
  • - Hidden Power Ground
  • - Signal Beam
  • - Baton Pass

    Obtain Glaceon

The only way to evolve an Eevee into a Glaceon is to level it up near an Ice Rock. Because the ice rock was introduced in later generations, Glaceon is not obtainable in generations 1, 2 or 3. But from 4 and onwards. Locations of the ice rocks are listed below. If the rock is not available in an individual game, the trade recommendation will be listed. If you don't already have an Eevee, head on over to Eevee game locations.

D/P/Pt: Once you have your Eevee, you can find the ice rock on Route 217 south of Snowpoint City. Like the moss rocks, the ice rocks in these games are actually fairly small, like the size of breakable boulders. So keep a close eye out when looking for it. It will be in the eastern part of the route.

HG/SS: The ice rock does not exist in this game. However, you can trade yourself a Glaceon from Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum.

B/W/B2/W2: The ice rock can be found in the lowest level of Twist Mountain. It looks like a giant ice cube, and is pretty hard to miss.

X/Y: The ice rock is located inside of the Frost Cavern north of Dendemille Town. The HM Surf is required to reach it.

OR/AS/E: In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire ONLY, an ice rock can be found in Shoal Cave when the tide is low.
